Press Release Writing

English

Some people think press releases are a thing of the past, especially in this digital age. But 60% of the stories we read, hear or watch – including on our smart phones – come from a press release.

This is why the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is proposing to its communications staff -- and to communications and media staff working in civil society organizations -- to ramp up their press release writing skills.

In this 20-minute video course, former BBC journalist Claire Doole explains tried and true methods for writing press releases in simple terms.

Once you have gone through the videos, you will have a better idea of how a press release can make a difference to your organization's reputation, why and when to write (or not write!) a press release, and how to formulate a press release to get the media’s attention.

Only learners registered in the course can download the resources.
