This is an IREX media and information literacy curriculum and trainer's manual, specifically created for educators and trainers in Mali and other Francophone West African contexts. It provides in-depth lessons and interactive exercises for helping learners of all ages develop the knowledge, skills, and strategies to build resilience to manipulative information. The trainer's manual covers the basics of inclusive and dynamic facilitation, along with modules focused on understanding: the complex media and information ecosystem; the cognitive distortions and biases that make us all vulnerable to information manipulation; how to recognize and resist threats to information integrity, particularly around elections; and what tools and strategies we can use to be more critical, responsible, and resilient in our everyday media and information engagement.
