The course defines mentoring, as well as its purposes and objectives. It explains how mentoring works, basing itself on the 70-20-10 principle, and describes the stages of the mentoring process – from establishing contact to exchanging information and working towards specific goals and the future.

It introduces mentors to key mentoring skills such as active listening, building trust, and using the GROW model, and explains how to apply them. It also describes effective selection criteria for both mentors and mentees and outlines their respective roles and responsibilities.
